I am still having problems with my wiper not switching to the off position. I disassembled the windshield wiper motor and everything looked OK. Does anyone know what readings I should get on my wiper switch? I am under the impression that the switch works off of the ground.

The mag switch mechanism inside the wiper housing probably need cleaning. Remove the front cover and clean it with a spray cleaner.
CAREFULL DENMO old boy, you might get into trouble asking what year. You are supposed to do your reasearch first and find out what year it is before you answer. You will get chastised for asking.
I to am having the same problem with my windshield wipers not cutting off. It just started yesterday. I have a 98 c5. Any suggestions on what the problem is and the cheapest fix?
When I was doing my resto I checked my gauge cluster before putting the dash pads on, it was sitting on the steering shaft - my wiper gauge back came apart and the 2nd speed never worked again - even if everything was replaced perfectly - LI Corvette sent me a new one and works like a charm - some things are just not worth repairing IMO. I had similar problem a while back and did following:
Disconnect battery
Remove shielding
Remove distributor cap
Disconnect wiring (3 plugs)
Remove 4 1/4 inch screws (be careful lower left has ground tab)
Spray the heck out of insides with electric contact cleaner
PRAY
Reverse above and give it a try.
---OR---
To test motor/on/slow/fast --- try this
Locate the plug with 3 wires and try following (I had old wiring harness so I cut off plug which made it simpler).
Brown is power (center terminal). Light blue (closest to the distributor) is ground for low speed, dark blue (closest to the firewall) is ground for high speed. Grounding the light blue gives you low speed, grounding both the light blue and dark blue gives you high speed.
BTW.....Above fixed my problem

Sorry about not noting the year. 64
I have cleaned the parking mechanism with contact cleaner and bypassed the switch and the unit will still not park. Who would be a preferred vendor to rebuild the assembly?
