I'm trying to get my head around why anyone would remove the big tank and replace it with a regular one - could someone enlighten me?
Cheers!
hindsight is always 20/20.
remember, at the time, corvettes were a 'dime a dozen'... i, for one, would probably have gotten tired of not being able to carry luggage behind the seats.
but, being an original 'tanker', it can probably be redone; the tank was only fiberglass..

Congratulations on your new acquisition - it is creating a certain 'barn find' excitement on the Forum. Keep the pictures and updates coming!

Thanks,
Like WMF said , they were a dime a dozen. Before my dad sold the car in '69, he traded some minor body work for the tank to a guy who raced Vettes. It wasn't a big deal at the time. I'll take some more Pics tonight.
