Default 1963 Swc

LAST NITE I installed the support for pedal assy clutch and brake
The 63 being the one you have to pull support for replacement.
My clutch pedal was loose from the shaft as well as bushing and etc

The reason for doing was my pedal had too much slop from side to side
I replaced pedal as well as bushings linkage going out along with bracket on side of pedal. New end on linkage too. I swear it has as much slop as before if not worse from side to side.
It appears to be moving from shaft where the shaft is attached. Any IDEAS
this is not about a adjusment problem or a clutch that is to stout.

Default Pedals

I replaced the bushings on my 66. I am assuming they are the same. Bubba had welded a big washer to the shaft to capture it on mine. I ground it off and had to buy a new clutch pedal. If I remember correctly, I replaced all four bushings and the spring. They are the same bushings that are used on the headlight assembly. When I installed and greased them, they too were somewhat sloppy until I connected the clutch and brake linkage. That tightened the pedals. Have you checked to see if the shaft is worn away or the housing hole(s) are oblong? Jerry

Its all new. My old shaft on my stock pedal was not worn out.
It was loose at the joint between shaft and pedal.
Causing it to have a lot of sideplay. Cant figure why people think hooking up the linkage one way or the other. Would have any impact?? on sideplay.
I am going to disassemble and check housing,.
You can plainly see after having together pushing it one time it has movement at the pin where pedal meet shaft and it should not????

Did you replace ALL FOUR plastic bushings? There are two where the clutch pedal shaft goes through the walls of the pedal support, and two more where the shaft passes through the tube at the top end of the brake pedal.

Yes I did John. I did everything I thought might fix the loose pedal
Including 4 bushings new pedal/ linkage rod/ and bracket/ that bolts to pedal rests against stop as well as the end that swivels on engine side of linkage along with spring. I checked your pics and wanted to say nice car. If I was half as bright as you? I would not ask questions?
Thanx so much for reading my post and the time
