My 64 (327 / 365Hp W/O air) needs power steering or maybe I'm just getting too old to wrestle with it.
Anyway i bought a kit that includes the valve, piston and hoses. I know I need a different pittman arm but what other brackets etc. do I need ? What pulley for the crank. Anyone who has been thru this; I would appreciate your insights.
Most of the power steering conversion kits I have seen ( including the one I bought ), include everything except the crank pulley. You will need the power steering pump, pump mounting brackets, hydraulic ram with frame bracket and reinforcement, control valve, hoses, idler arm, pitman arm, pump pulley and crankshaft pulley.
Call LICS, they can set you up with all the correct hardware and pulleys for your '65. Also, as stated you'll need a shorter 5 quart oil pan. There are repro pans available now or use the Z-28 oil pan with the windage tray.
