When I first rotate the headlamps all is fine, but if I hit a bump the warning lamp will begin to flash till I open and close the buckets again. I have looked in AIM and the shop manual and neither is very clear. Can someone shed some light on how to correct the problem. Please forgive the last sentence as there was no pun intended.
1) The headlights are on, and
2) At least one of the headlight buckets is not fully opened.
I suspect there is some play in your headlights due to wear on the gears, and when you hit a bump one of the headlight buckets ever so slightly closes, thus triggering the switch which tells the headlight warning lamp to activate.

This occasionally happens to me, and when it does I just hit the headlight "up" switch a little and the light stops flashing.
