Eng Stamp & Trim Code Help
1965 Coupe - My take on this trim code is 437 = White interior, Std = Vinyl, am I interpreting this correctly?
Also how does this engine stamp look to you guys?
Thanks

D5 = November the 5th
65 = the year model
437 = coupe
std = black vinyl (the standard interior)
S288 = St Louis body number 288
AA = black exterior
The stamp appears correct.

Ed, I guess that the deal with the '64 coupe fell through?

John - Yeah, the 64 had too many highs & lows. Nice frame & detail on the engine but the interior needed a complete restore and the exterior was nice paint but the wrong color, a bit pricey for all the additional work it needed. Plus I was real concerned about the birdcage. This 65 looks real nice, 327/365 black on black all original. I going to see it tomorrow I'll let you know how I make out.

No but close enough, it's right over the border in NY, about 15 min from me.

Yes, that is a nice looking stamp! If not real, nice job of re-stamping.

Hi
Approximate birthday 194375S101808: November 5, 1964
The stamp pad shows F09IIHK which is Sept. 11 (09II),
HK: 327ci, 365hp (air conditioning, manual transmission)
There was a strike at the Corvette plant in Oct. 1964 which, I guess, can account for the difference in engine date to the car's birthday.
I would also verify the block casting no.:
3782870: 327ci
3858180: 327ci (limited use)
Good luck, Nick

I'm not an expert, but the engine pad has an honest look to it.
