Default Soft top frame Identification

Hey folks,

I searched the archives and looked through Noland's C1 restoration book but can't seem to find anything that will identify what year a soft top frame belongs to. I bought my '58 a about 2 years ago and part of the deal was a softtop frame he bought for the car. It seems to be all there, has a "straight" rear bow so it is not for a 61 or 62 but that is all I can tell. I looked for a part # on it but nothing.

What should I look for? A guy I recently talked to said there was an extra part or folding piece on earlier tops? I don't know. I took pictures so let me know what to send a picture of and I will.

Also, the "header" or part of the top that latches to the windshield frame is not attached so I tried to put it together and the bolts don't seem to line up with the brackets at the front of the frame. Was this normal or are my header and frame from different tops and therefore incompatible? The bracket that the head connects to are small/bolt on parts about 8 inches long so could these be wrong?

Anyway, as always, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ken
