Adhesive Question for Console
Bought a reguild kit for the console of my '64 ( ie. shift indicator, ashtray door, and bright work around shifter. I pulled the old ones off and the adhesive used was a carmel color.
Anybody who has redone their consoles: what glue did you use??

I did mine many years ago - I think I used Contact Cement (also caramel-colored); came in a little brown bottle with a wire applicator inside the cap with a "swab" on it.

....Did one on a 67....The cement that comes on the 67 kits does not hold...I used 2-Ton clear epoxy...It worked...Hope your kit matches your console...The ones for the 67 don't....Had to use lots of C-clamps to hold down the corners...Used small pieces of wood under the C-clamp on the good side...Don't use too much pressure on the large piece around the shifter or you will dent it...As long as both sides are clean I'm sure almost any glue will work...Good Luck.
