Bent Frame or acceptable tolerance?
I was looking at a C2 the other day and decided to check the wheel measurement center hub to hub. Drivers side was about 7/8 of an inch shorter. The seller thought the car "might" have been in an accident before they bought it, due to a one piece front clip. Bent frame or acceptable tolerances?

My 1961 car had a 102" wheelbase on one side and 101" on the other until I replaced all the A-arm bushings and one spindle suppport, now both sides are 102".

My frame was twisted 1 1/2" from the #1 to #3 body mounts from the torque of the BB. There were almost a dozen cracks in the front of the frame also. I had it straightened on a frame machine after fixing the rust, cracks, and replacing rusty mounts.

You don't measure from the center of the hub. There is no good way to tell if the front wheels are dead center. just a little off comes out to alot at the end of the hub. Take the front tires off and put jack stands under the control arms. Then measure from the center of the lower ball joint to a control point in the frame. By control point I mean a hole in the frame that is the same on both sides. The center of the ball joint dose not move and needs to be within 1/4 inch at the most from side to side. That will give you a true measurement.
