I bought a lock set from Zip - the ignition lock is different - my original has a white push pin (switch?) in the far end of the key cylinder, while the replacement not only doesn't fit, but it doesn't have that push pin with the spring.

Any idea as to what year car you ordered for? That'll help . . .
The '66 ignition lock cylinder is unique & a 'one-year-only' component. The switch housing is set up to accept a lock cylinder with a blade across the diameter, as shown in this photo. (Earlier midyear model years used an arc-shaped protrusion; kind of semi-circular looking. These will not fit into an OEM '66 switch housing).
I'm not sure what a "...white push pin..." means.
A lock cylinder from a '67 model year will fit if you can find one. However, it uses a different style keyway, tumblers & key. The '67 key will stamped 'A' and will not fit any existing OEM '66 locks on your car. (GM's way of theft protection from '67 & on).

That's not the original lock cylinder; they didn't have a white plastic spring-loaded pin on the cylinder until the switch moved to the column in 1969. Sounds like the switch housing isn't original either.

I suspected as much when he mentioned the white plastic pin, never saw such a thing on any mid-year car.
