Known for a long time the Small Blocks were produced in MEXICO but reality set in when I uncrated my NEW ZZ4. Was taking pics of all markings and the rear block casting below will definately NOT fool anyone at the NCRS or anyone else

The GM foundry and engine plant in Toluca, Mexico has been the ONLY source of Gen-1 engines for about ten years.

Not true. About half of GM block and head castings come from Mexican foundries, the rest are in the U.S.

As long as the Chinese manifolds bolt up, it's all good.

Since this is the 1953 - 1967 site, why do I care about 4 cylinders?

Are all the V8 castings G-1?

Does that include the ZL1 blocks or bowtie blocks?

I am not disputing you and do not know so I am asking

The ZL maybe different but the cast iron big block bowties are made in Mexico.

The quality is not as good as it was in the past.

ALL Gen-1 350 small-block castings (and finish-machined assemblies and engines, crate motors, etc.) come from Toluca, and have for many years.

Their current production engine castings (they have about 32 different engines these days) come from both Mexican and U.S. foundries.

That was all my point was. The older stuff which bolts right up to what we are dealing with is only "hecho en Mexico".
