Buy an original from Greg Thompson, Overland Park KA. You will see some of his on Ebay. Does great work and the antenna's are back to their original configuration. As far as I know none of the repo's are even close to the original.
I think only one company makes the repo's. They offer 2 different antenna's, make sure you get the concours one. About 10 bucks more. I got mine from Volunteer Vettes. Even the concours antenna will not pass NCRS judging, but it is fairly close. The originals the mast were chrome plated and the repo's are polished stainless. Restored originals are between 400 and 600 dollars. Hope you have side pipes.....sure makes it easier to install.
The repros like most of the repro parts out there .They are similar but not close to the originals if you know what you are looking at.As some one else said, there is a guy that restores the originals very well.If you are looking for the best go that route. If you are looking for one that looks like a power antenna buy a repro from one of the many vendors. They all sell the same one.
