I have a basic alternator which has three connections .
1 is the main threaded terminal ( battery )
2&3 are spade type connectors marked 1R and 2F
It has been running just fine but I needed to remove the two spade terminals for repair and now I cant remember which was connected to where .
I have a heavy lead from the main terminal which connects to one of the spades but which one ?
What happens if I have them reversed .
TIA
Mike .
Thanks for the pic , unfortunately mine is different , it has no ground terminal and the two spade connectors go into the top of the casing not the back .
Although the car is a 61 I am running a later 350 motor and alternator , I believe it is a 45 Amp with internal regulator , unfortunately it was already installed when I got the car and as it appears to have been rewired by BUBBA cable colours are no longer correct , however as I said it has been working just fine so just need to know which way around these terminals connect .
Mike
Basically the same as the 12-00 position with terminals at the top , I have 1 wire from the loom to 1 spade and the thick wire from the batt terminal to the other , but which way around do they go ?
