Default sidepipe question

My sidepipes outside diameter measures 2 3/4" so do I have 2 1/2" sidepipes? If so, if you figure the chambered area, would they be down to 2" ? Is there some kind of inner chamber and any way to determine that size (diameter)? Also, any way to tell if they are Allen's, Sweet Thunder, or ??? Yes, I know it's a dumb question but after seeing MasterDave cut his open, I am now very curious. And no, I don't want to cut mine open Thanks guys

Do you have 2" exhaust manifolds or 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds? Thats how you tell....I believe (but I am sure I will corrected if I am wrong) that the pipes themselves are the same size its just at the exhaust manifold that is different.

I think the Sweet Thunder 2 1/2 ID pipes have an outside diameter of 3 inches

yeap, I am right

Chambered tubes are correct diameter (2.75” not 3”) & have 2 different width of pinches like originals and they are placed correctly.

* The tips are the correct diameter tubing (2.75” not 3”) which are mandrel bent to the correct radius and then cut at correct angles.

The outside diameters of our sidepipes with 2 1/2 inch inner baffle tubes are 3 inch, all others are 2 3/4 inch as came on stock sidepipes.

They must be Allans, they definately are 2 3/4" outside diameter. Just a little larger than the 2 1/2" down tube leading to the Chambered area.

My Allen's 2 1/2" pipes have an OD of 3", I think you may have either 2" or 2 1/4" ID pipes.

Just because the exhaust manifolds are one size doesn't determine the ID of the chamber, ie the originals were 1.75" ID with either 2" or 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds.

That was exactly my point......like I said the pipes were the same size....what determines if you have 2" or 2 1/2" is the exhaust manifolds....

2 1/2" maniflod also, sorry

The chambered area is 9" circumfrance divide by 3.14 = 2.87" or 2 3/4" diameter. The manifold is 2 1/2" part # 3797902 right side (fulie manifold).
