The Birthday calculator located at
http://www.ncrswi.bizland.com/bday/bdaycalc.htm suggests a vehicle assembly date of approximately Nov 3, 1959

The engine casting date appears to be September 22, 1959
Engine assembly date is September 30, 1959

However I believe this is the same engine that JohnZ suggested had a suspicious, atypical stamp leading us to believe it isn't truly the original engine for that car.

Yes this is the same. I just got the casting date. It could be the correct engine. The stamp may be in question. How would this car fair with the correct casting date and since its a 519 block. This maybe the correct engine but the pad was milled during a rebuild? I have seen a lot of 60 vettes with NOM all listing around sixty or higher?

No, it's for a 1960.

The VIN of my 62 is
208672114120. The first digit indicates year

I'm going to have to defer to someone who's actually an NCRS member to offer detailed guidance.

350 points are allocated to the block. In this example, you'd lose 88 points for the pad; 50 for the non-typical engine plant stamp, and 38 for the non-typical pad surface. You'd get full credit for the casting number and casting date.

Also, I might be incorrect, becuase I am too lazy to go look it up, but I think that that date engine should not have a VIN deravitive on it. I don't think that started VIN stamping until late in November or early December. The early 60 engine stamps looked like they were stamped by a drunken sailor with the shakes! They did not use gang stamps, and all the digits were stamped individually.
Here is how a correct early 60 stamp should look, but I think that that date is way too early to be wearing a VIN. This is the engine stamp of my Duntov 60, and the engine had never been apart before I bought it.

Sorry guys,

I went and looked at the original post, and the engine did not have a VIN stamp on it. I don't know how I came to the conclusion it had one!

In any case, I would agree with Mr Hinkley that the stamp is atypical.
