I am basically doing a restomod on a friends 67 for his dad. We built a fuel injected 468 for the car, and it is a bit much for this car, but that's how we do things.
The distributor we are using is an MSD billet for fuel injection because we wanted to have individual cylinder control, so the mechanical tach will not work anymore.
I would like to convert to a mechanical tach, but do not know much about these cars as far as what we need to be able to do this.
I read something about using an electrical tach for a '77 when I was searching for stuff on Google. Will this work to be able to just swap out the tach and speedo and have everything work?
Thanks for your help!

I think he means converting to an electronic tach, since his msd does not have a tach drive. I have not done a midyear, but on C1's its relatively easy to take guts out of an aftermarket tach w same sweep and rpm range and put into the C1 can. I've also seen after market gauges in C2's like autometer.
I had this done to my C3 tach by Mikemercury here on the forum. He was reaasonable and the turnaround was quick. The electric tachs are much smoother working than the old mechanical tachs.
