I just saw the national news on CBS with a report on the toronado in the Wheatland Wis. area. A Vette owner's car ('63-'64 red) was in the tape footage under some serious debris. I hope the owners are OK! and the car can be fixed. Anyone on here know who it is? Dennis
I have a home a mile south of where the small funnel touched down. A friend of mine lost some siding and roofing, overall not too bad. I was home listening to the sirens and never had any wind, etc. I have not headed 15 miles west where most of the damage was to take a look around. I sent an email to a friend in the local corvette club but have not heard back. I do not know the owner of this car at this time:
That's Jay's Toronado in my post. I don't know the specs...it was the first thing that came up in a Google image search.
1000hp twinkie turbos... and he turned it into a rear wheel drive car
while he was modding it... originals were front wheel drive('66 was 1st year of FWD on the Toro) It was featured in a "Rides" episode on SPEED
channel.
Jay's is a '66.... I had a Black on Black '66 just like Jay's... mine had 20K
original miles in 1996... I was the second owner.... 425ci Olds with a
4bbl... it would send billowy white smoke from under the front wheel
wells... and strange but cool site.
