Default Rear Spring Question

Will be assembling the rear spring this evening. Can anyone indicate the proper orientation of the round retainers(they have a slight bevel on one side) which are part of the assembly linking the rear spring to the trailing arm? Unsure whether the flat part faces the rubber or vice versa.

TIA

Brett, you kinda lost me. I have had my rear spring and assorted suspension on and off my 65 twice, and while it's a SB I don't think the various components are too different (aside from the number of leaves). Are you talking about the "cups" (cushion retainer) that get peened over onto the spring ends, which the cushion set in? Item 19 on section 51 of the LIC cat?

identify the parts you are referring to from the linked page of the LIC catalog:

http://www.licorvette.com/pdfcatalogfiles/cat/51.pdf

you see, it sounds like you are referring to the trailing arm bolts and perhaps the flat washers, but there ain't no bevel to them when new:

Hey Jack,

Thx. for the post. I actually located the info. in the AIM, UPC 4 B .

The items I was attempting to describe are the retainers(flat washers), the AIM indicates they should be placed so the rounded side is toward the cushion.

The round (Radius'd side) part of the flat washer faces the rubber.

Whew!
I'm glad I read this before I installed mine! I was going to put the flat side toward the rubber cushion.
Thanks for the correct info.

Pancho,
How's things??

Just got the car back from paint and have began the assembly stage.
Thoroughly enjoying tinkering in the garage, car is coming together nicely

I was wondering why I've been seeing you post during the day, congrats on your retirement!

My b-i-l is toying with the idea of puchasing a C1, assume Jack put you in touch with him. (Jack recently requested your contact info.)
