I don't want to state the obvious but Ebay always seems to have them on there in various states. Both vacuum items and washer items.

You may also want to check with JNJVette who is on line in this forum pretty often. He seems to have a very good selection of parts and if he can not help he can usually point you directly in the right direction.

I have bought from him....very good guy.

These parts are not cheap if you want them to work so expect to pay a pretty good price...

Good luck.

Have you talked to Tom or Jay Maxwell at Capital Auto Restoration in Maryland, (301) 948-9481? They're the "gurus" of C1 wiper/washer systems. Sit down before talking prices.

Geez you have my attention. What are they worth? When I put the one piece nose on my '60 I removed the reservoir and did not drill the new cowl. It is sitting in my basement.

19 and 0 is getting close...if all goes well we will be enjoying a Super Bowl this year...pretty exciting...

I think you can expect to pay from $100 to $250 for the vacuum canister but should be able to get one that works for close to the $100 ranges. The pump and plastic container in good working order I think should run between $100 and over $250 for a very nice unit for your show car. You can shop around and probably make out pretty well. My suggestion would be to spend the money and get working items because if you try to save and buy them and they need work it may cost you more in the long run. I hope this helps. Again this is my experience and other may have better input.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find one in that price range.

As JohnZ says, call the Maxwells. They're the pump/cannister gurus.

Assume the sitting position when you talk prices for a correct, restored, working model.

I agree with Chuck on pricing. I have been looking for a vacuum tank and I am still looking for one in the price range that was mentioned. If you have one, let me know, for my '62.

Every once in a while I see a vacuum canister on Ebay. There is one on there now at the price of $96.00 and I we know it will bid up from there. Maybe I should not have mentioned prices. I am living in the past I guess regarding prices. Sorry if I misled you on pricing I thought I was close.

Be careful - many vacuum canisters are offered for sale without the all important valve that goes on the top - those are one PITA to find in good, working condition. Many used canisters have broken mounting straps.

I had to buy a used beat up canister just to get a good valve. Doc Rebuild for the hoses if you don't already have them; otherwise you just get a bunch of rubber from most vendors that you have to figure out the routing and what size goes where. From Doc Rebuild (middle of the page) - they had the canister when I called 2 months ago but no valve:

Good Morning:
Let me go inspect the units and get back to you. They're all wrapped up and boxed. I have the cannister and resevoir with top, the nasty nozzles, AL hose wraps et al. I'll get back to you on the forum this evening.
Let me tell you what I need: a hood for a '60.

Best Regards,

Black60

Default Dug everything out.

tinat:

I took a look at my stuff and this is what I have:

A white plastic res. base with a gray top on it. Has some overspray which comes off with the slightest rubbing with my thumb nail.

The resevoir mount with the 4 screws, washers and nuts that I suspect are stock. The 4 screw heads are #2 phillips. I don't know if they are OEM.

The cannister with the fitting on the top undamaged (the fitting is undamaged that is). However, one of the two mounting legs is cracked near the screw mounting hole but I had saved the piece and taped it along with the 2 clutch head mounting screws with nuts to the unit.

All of the hoses are still connected but hard. Some of the hoses have the aluminum stays still wrapped on them.

I also have the original nozzles that have been on the losing end of a DA sander. Could easily be rechromed but they repro them at a fraction of chroming costs.

I am not a profiteer as several on this forum can attest. In fact I have never sold any Corvette part as my basement can attest. I need a hood.
Be happy to discuss some kind of arrangement.

The above parts came off my '60. I make no claim that they are original but based on the amount of undercoating or road tar and gunk on the mounting hardware when I removed them 15 years ago I suspect they are.

Default washer pump

Hey Black60 I wish I had another hood, but one's all I got!
I am really interested in the parts you have. Can you give me a price or maybe a phone number so my husband can call you. Thanks everyone for your help.
Sorry I got carried away with the smilies.

Default Repo tanks and Black 60

Black 60. If you are looking for another buyer for a vacuum tank, send me an email! Can anyone tell me about the repo tanks? I saw where they were sold with a valve. I checked with Paragon and they said the tanks are on BO with no indication at all when they will be available. Are there anyother suppliers that may have this tank? Is the repo an accurate repo?
