For a c2, lots of people have them, even for angle plugs, I would go with a premium header with a thicker flange, if i were you, Hooker makes some. Most offer Jet Hot or similar ceramic coatings, also.

I took mine directly to Jet Hot after i welded in O2 sensor ports, as they are just down the street. The stuff dulls out a bit if it gets real hot, but it hasn't burned off yet, and I KNOW they have gotten mighty hot.

Doug Thorley Headers. Thickest flangest and tubes in a quality part.

I won a pair in a raffle over 20 years ago (and paid a mechanic $350 to install. ) When we got ours, I told my wife the car was going to be louder. She was all for that no problemo!

When we had them put on (over 20 years ago now), the car got quieter. She was really disappointed.

Anywho, they were chome and the chome instantly blues. And after 10-15 years they were showing their age so I had them ceramic coated locally (Anaheim, CA). That was $150/pr., the minimum shop charge.

These are actually quietier than the stock rams horns! Mine make excellent power and are NOT the Tri-Y design. I think the tubes are equal length. (If not, very close)

Coating in the pics is probably over 10 years old now. Note how thick the flanges are.

I have Hookers I bought used. Had them painted white with VHT by the local ceramic coat guys and baked in their oven. Three years later the paint still looks perfect. I think white painted headers give it a 60's race car look under the hood. There's no problem with underhood heat, but I do have about three coats of VHT. They said it covered very poorly.
