engine date codes 1960, 230 hp, help

Default engine date codes 1960, 230 hp, help

i went back to look better at that 1960 230 hp for sale . i was able to look at the ### better, i need some help since the books dont .the serial is 00867S10629 the block casting is 5375619 the casting date is 1239, the stamp on the front pad is F925CQ , single carb 4 speed, the trans is cast iron with alloy tail shaft.the paint is roman red with black seats dash ect , it looks like it was painted 30 years ago and is getting thin. the trunk is black with black mat and wood and cardboard ,and the well for the top is black also . .thanks for any help JIM

The serial number is missing a digit; it should have six digits after the "S". The block casting number should be 3756519. The casting date is September 23, 1959, and the stamped assembly date is September 25th, so that makes sense. Check the serial number again and we can see if it makes sense with the engine dates.

sorry it looks like 00867S106929 are the paint and the top well and trunk ok being black with a red body , thanks JIM

'60 #106929 was built on or about April 28, 1960; it wasn't "born" with the September 1959 engine that's in it now. 60's have been built with the top well and trunk interior trim color, and in exterior body color; the '58-'60 Judging Guide may provide some guidance on that issue.
