Default Differential Code

The date stamp on my differential reads 10 25 7 (Oct 25, 67) but the code prefix before this is 1A. This code doesn't match any I have found. The year is wrong for my '66 ( we affectionately call the car Frankenstein) but the 1A is wrong for a '68 Vette. Any ideas?

is the stamping very clear? It could be FA = 370 ratio 427 cu. in.

That's what I was thinking as this car was a drag racer in one of its incarnations. I can swear it's a 1 though. thanks.
