I have an 97 model camaro with the LT-1 engine, that I purchased for an other project I have in the works (57 chevy truck) I have looked for some fuel rail covers for the motor and some say they are the same as the vette. others say some camaro owners can make the vette. covers work, is it the same engine or what.
sorry I steped on some bodys toes, Just a friendly question among friends. I thought some guys had maybe transplanted this type of engine in there C-2 and would have known what I was talking about.
Yes you can make the Vette covers work on the Camaro motor. There are four long studs that thread into the intake. They have tapered pins on the ends that you push the covers over. Thats all that hold them on. You do have one problem. You need to trim the vette covers to fit around the Camaro fuel lines. The Vette lines come up the right side of the car.Camaro is on the left.
Street and Performance has everything you need (Plastic covers, pins)
Plus they have kit to run the fuel lines out the back of engine. You do not need to cut covers. http://www.hotrodlane.cc/
Corvette covers on a 95 LT1 Camaro engine, installed in a 68 Camaro...
To get around the left vs. right fuel line problem I modified the rear of the fuel rails to accept A/N fittings and then hosed it out of there....
I'm sure someone will tell me this is a Corvette engine since it has some of the Corvette specific parts (accy drive, valve covers and LT4 intake) but I swapped those also....
