Help me ID this G.M. camshaft
Pulled the motor on a friends 62 to re-seal and freshen up the engine compartment.
The camshaft is a mystery. No markings except a stamping past the last journal "251".
I am almost certain it's a solid, shows no wear. The engine was built in 1973 FWIW.
I would like to know what to set the lash.
Assistance is appreciated!
Thanks, Art.

If that's the only marking, it's not a GM cam; GM cams have (raised) casting numbers and symbols, not stampings, between the journals and lobes.

Cam?
Art,
Have you googled any of the more popular cam sites: Crane, Competition Cams to name just a couple.? If the cam's vintage is from the 70s you might try contacting them directly. Maybe the cam's no longer being produced but they may have the older specs stashed in their archives. Good Luck! Bob L.
