Removing rocker panel clips
-Greg
The best way would be with the body off. I had to replace some and repair a couple areas around them on my '64. They are welded in the back of the channel under the door sill as well as in the front. I took a grinder and ground the welds to free them.
If you're not pulling the body, then I'd just take a cutoff tool and cut them off.
BTW, what side pipes are you using? I just got a set of Hookers, and they don't even require the clips to be cut off. I got mine from JetHot in their silver luster finish. They look awesome sitting in the box and should look even more awesome on the car. Great price too.
Did the dash drawing work out ok?

I'm planning to fabricate my own side pipes (what else is new), as with the set-back motor and stretched wheelbase and rocker panels, stock ones wouldnt' fit. Also, I have to go from the exhaust ports and over the frame rails, as there is no room under them (the ground gets in the way :) ). I plan to tuck the pipes part way under the body and pretty close to the frame rails, so it looks like the clips will have to go. I hve some 4" stainless pipe on the shelf (old boat exhaust) that I've been using to mock things up to look for clearances.
The dash template worked great, I have the mock-up drivers panel in now so I can check steering column clearances for setting the brake mount, mid motor plate, cage cross brace, .........
Thanks - Greg
