I have looked all over my black book and cannot find this anywhere (you guys with original engines can really help me out). Is the thermostat housing/water neck coming off of the manifold a straight neck or is the neck angled 45 degrees?

Thanks alot,

In your black book there. Does it say anything about different year models or different engines?
That information would be of more than a little help to answer your question.
Need year of car, engine size, and horsepower rating. Then we can help.

It is a 63 convertible. It has a 327, but it is non-matching so I do not know the horsepower rating. A guy up at o reilys said he thought it was a straight water neck, but he wasn't 100% sure.
Mine looks exactly like the picture Mark posted. Think of that picture as you looking down from over the top of the carb looking toward the radiator. That would be the orientation on the manifold ( give or take an inch) The GM numbers on the pic that Mark posted are also what you want.

That thermostat housing Mark pictured looks right. But remember, you have to have the matching manifold as the mounting holes are not all oriented the same direction.
He needs a plan view of a complete engine to show what he needs. I can take a picture if someone will post it.
Thanks a lot guys! I think I figured out that the reason why the person who owned the car before me installed a straight water neck was because an angled water neck would put the radiator hose right into the fuel line. Could I see a picture of some original fuel lines just before they go into the carb? I think I would like to reconfigure my fuel line and fuel filter for a more stock look.
I'd post a picture if I knew how. Maybe you could post a photo of your setup. Sounds like you may have something strange cobbled up there. The fuel line runs up the right front of the engine, the top radiator hose goes from the center of the engine over to the left and then on to the radiator neck. No way should they come close to each other.
Aftermarket intake which is putting the top heater hose right in the way of where the fuel line goes.
The fuel line crosses over to the driver side BEHIND the thermostat housing, not in front of it.
You have a Holley carburetor on that engine and it's supposed to be an AFB. Not normally a problem but it would confuse a stock looking '63 setup. I can't help with a picture of your confuguration because your fuel line crosses to the driver's side like a '66-'67.
I believe you could use a thermostat housing for a '63-'66 SHP engine. In relation to the mounting holes, it is angled slightly to the left and up at about 46*. Then use a SHP top hose. I think Paul67 has some good pictures of this.
I don't have any pictures that will help. Somebody here will have them. I believe if you get the thermostat housing I mentioned, you'll be okay even if the fuel line isn't routed like stock.
