Restamp. That is one of the more angled I have ever seen on a partial VIN. I am open to lots of strange stamps, but this one I say is a restamp because the pad is too clean. The number alignment (spacing) on the VIN is off. The pad looks like it is below the water pump mount.
To me it looks OK. The broach (sp.?) marks are similar to my engine and the angle of the serial # derivitive doesn't bother me. Could have been a bad day for the guy that hammered them. I assume that this is a 427 of some type being a "T" and a JD suffix.
The first one appears partially out of focus or something. But the part that is, the broach marks and texture look good. I like how the 7 is bolder from repeated use, but the angle of the stamp is a concern.
The second one to me seems a little too belt sander looking, so I dont know on it.
I'm gonna go with restamp on the first. From what can be seen of the texture, it don't look bad... just "fresh". I'd be more concerned with the stampings, keep in mind that each one was done seperately on different days by different people, so the fact that they are both so angled look suspecious, plus the spacing in the vin.
The second from what can be seen looks better, but really not enough there to form a decision.
