So I replaced the 2 large rubber/metal bushings in the cross member which fit into the ***** on either side of the frame. The bushings fit into the cross member from the top down, the top of the bushing has the pocket that fits into the **** on the frame. The cross member is bolted to the diff and the front diff carrier gets bolted to the frame. My question what keeps the the cross member from dopping down leaving the bushings bolted to the frame??? I know they get bolted from the bottom up but it seems they could just slide out of the cross member. Am I missing something???

The metal part of the bushing has tabs that are bent/peened over to secure the bushing into the cross member.
