Default Help with Avatar

I notice that a lot of the forum members use their cars for their avatar I'm trying to do the same thing, how do you get the picture down to size it says 150x150 pixels or 24.4 KB which ever is smaller, I've been trying with no luck. I'm LOST. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

download a free viewer like IrfanView and you should be able to resize with no problems

If you have an account with Photobucket it will resize the picture for you. It is free, by the way.

Buns,
I do have a photobucket account and when I went to the screen that you showed on your reply I picked avatar and it downsized my picture it I thought I was good to go, but when I transfered it to the forum it still says its to big because its 34.4 kb, It can't be bigger than 24.4 kb. Tomorrow is another day. Thank's KC John & mdz06vetter for your help also.
I giving up for today time for a cold one, I need it.

Plan B: (you can do this while drinking beer).

Go to "MY PICTURES", right click on your photo and click on "OPEN WITH", then scroll across and click on "PAINT". When the new screen opens, click on "IMAGE" then scroll down to "STRETCH/SKEW" , click on that and you can enter in the percentage of the original size that you want the picture to end up as. I would start with 25 percent. Click on "O.K." Click on "IMAGE", then "ATTRIBUTES", it will give you the details regarding your picture. If it is still too big you can shrink it more.

Buns, I finally got it, thanks for your help, it doesn't seen very clear that will be for another day, I'm going to take some good pictures when the weather gets better. I went with 25% and it fit the first shot at least know I know how to do it, good thing I'm getting low on beer.
Thanks again.
