Maybe someone who is very, very good with a wire feed welder can spot it back on. You'll have to get the flapper door shaft and lever in the proper orientation before tacking it.

absolutely...had the exact same problem with my 66 a/c roadster last year. If I remember correctly a buddy of mine who was an aircraft tool and die maker drilled a hole in the are same size as the shaft lined every thing up and lined the area with damp wipers and put a spot of MIG weld on top. Good to go...much better than the "mickey mouse" original spot weld.

Thanks for the help. I got it done. Did as you suggested. I spot welded it with a mig welder. I practiced severl times on peice of metal before I biult up the courgae to do it. Turned out great.
