I put a set of Offset trailing arms on my 66 coupe. My question to those that have done this, I want to put a 10" wide tire on the back. I hear that 10" is as wide as I can go with the arms. I put a new sway bar on as well. (after market). Im not familiar with back spacing and all that other stuff. But as Im looking at the tire (stock) I got on it now, it looks like I have an 1-1/2 clearence before it will rub on my sway bar. I just want to know if Im gonna have any problems with getting a 10" on there. The front end was changed years ago but I would like to put an 8" in the front. Will this be a problem. Stock front end. Thanks for the help guys.
I just ordered offset TAs with shortened springs for my 65 coupe from Vansteel.
I also ordered the "performance plus" suspension upgrade from VBP. Pattie, who took my order, told me that I could put up to 10" wheels on my 65 coupe with offset trailing arms. She did however, advise that I measure for wheel offset and tire clearance (after installing the trailing arms) before ordering wheels and tires.
I've read many posts on corvette forums and have not seen any with 10" wheels on stock bodies, most have only installed 7" or 8".
This is all assuming that we are using 17" or 18" wheels.
