Plan to look at a 64 convert in a few days. Being a newbie, what do I need to look for? I've read a little about rust in the birdcage area. Is there an easy way to check this out without removing any trim pieces or the glove box? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Good luck, I would ask for pictures taken during the restoration..I would also take a knowledgable Vette person with me who has no stake in the purchase..I used the owner of a local vette shop who has been in business for 25 years.. he charged me $50 and lunch..money well spent...

Check for frame rust in the kickups on the rear part of frame, behind doors. I dont know why but 64s seem to be famous for this.

Thanks for the information. Looked at the car today and there was no evidence of rust in the birdcage area or frame. Nice car, needs a little TLC... but otherwise nice body off resto . Did make an offer. we'll see.
