Well, this question has probably been asked a thousand times on this forum, but how would someone verify that a NOM car with seemingly the right BB clues (hood, radiator, left side hood prop) was a factory big block without having paperwork to support it ?
Is there anything that someone trying to pass off a factory SB as a BB are likely to not do ?
If the answer is as obvious as the day is long to y'all, please forget my naivete.
Many more things than what you listed for a factory BB car. You have to check each and every item. It is REALLY up to the buyer to educate himself or hire a professional to look at the car. Find a NCRS judge in your area to appraise the car for you.
Do a SEARCH for Corvette Forum Member "MagicV8". Go to "How to Identify a 66 Original Big Block Car". Posted 12/23/2007. This post has all the information you seek.
If you have further questions on a specific car, then provide additional details and we will try to help.
