Yes Tom,
It's still here (28*F this morning). You are but 70 or so miles south but get very different weather. But it looks like an end is in sight with 60*F weather later this week.

I haven't tried the Plastx but a motorcycle shop is a good suggestion. Thanks!

Paul, took the information off the tube but couldn't find any third party branding either. They may have it made exclusively for them.

It is a 75ml tube
Original BMW
Cabrio Heckscheiben-Reiniger
#81229407665

Has multiple launguages on the side and the only English says "Convertible rear window cleaner".

My C2 convertible window now looks like glass and also used it on the hardtop with equally as good results.

Good tip! I will try BMW tomorrow. I know it's only a rubber bumper C3 but I get **** about care/condition.

Thanks for the evening chuckle . Much appreciated. I am half-way detailing the engine, have replaced the 40-year-old pillar post cracked from CA-sun trims, replaced the cloudy interior rear-view mirror, detailed most of the interior, have the rear compartment doors out for refurb/new trims, new door panels tomorrow, and more to come. My 1967 was 98% restored. This one is a challenge and needs TLC. Not too much...but I enjoy this. Yes, just a bumper C3 but you know, it is a Corvette and a pretty car.

Rick,
Well, I could keep both!! After all we have the last two 1967 cars in Goodwood Green that have not been converted to re-sale red. Very rare! Seriously, I am contemplating my navel on the 1967 coupe but I will probably sell, perhaps on EBay. The papers this morning speak of $1.50/liter ($5.75/US gallon) gasoline this summer. If a car gets 12mpg in the city that means almost $6.00 to go to the grocery store. Makes a person think and two gas-guzzlers is a bit of a stretch for me.

look at it this way.... insurance costs aside, you can't drive both of them at the same time; so if you don't drive any more than you usually do, then the gasoline costs won't be any more....

You guys are good! And my case falls short. Adding the 1974 to my insurance policy was $40/year. And re gas mileage I drive about 800 miles/year on the Corvette(s); hardly a show-stopper. I guess I am looking for reasons to sell the 1967..... I'm having trouble obviously.

I've always used the old 2-bottle Meguiar's #10 and #16 system with good results on my C2 hardtop rear window. Back in the full service days I'd have to bang on the rear window from the inside to keep the pump jockeys from "cleaning" the Plexiglas with Windex and the circular motion of a (usually dirty) blue paper towel. The horror! They also spilled enough gas on the rear deck paint that I finally started demanding the nozzle and doing it myself, years before "self-serve".

GM used to sell what I'm sure were the same plastic window products over-the-counter at Chevy dealers. Only difference was "GM Plastic Window Cleaner" and GMPD Part Numbers printed on the bottles. Now that all convertibles seem to have glass windows, the GM stuff has disappeared.

I expect you would have good results from the new Meguiar's one-step product. They know their stuff; their Guitar Care System is the best I've ever used on my collection.

John,
I finally got around to the rear window touch-up. Well, that BMW product sure works well! Thank you for that tip .
