Hey guys
Thanks for all your input on exterior painting. I wondered what everyone did on the interior. I ordered spray paint from zip, etc., but I wondered if anyone did different on the interior. I would like to use a paint gun to paint the metal parts of the interior but wondered if that is ever done.
What's the professional way to paint on a 1960 red interior?
Thanks ahead of time
Tina
Go to your paint store and have them mix it up for you, and shoot it with a gun. It will have a higher solids count than spray can stuff and cover better.
I think you can get a better job with a spray gun and use an automotive paint. If you have a part that you can take off. Take it to your local automotive paint store and they should be able to match it. Their maybe a better way that the experts on the forum can tell you but that's have I've done the ones that I have restored.

Reason: correct spelling
I would find the nearest PPG distributor and purchase a quart of Lacquer. Do not rub out the lacquer when done and you will have a factory correct finish. I use a high build primer to fill minor scratches or marks in the original panels.
Just found this out, Carquest can mix paint, If you are going to redo your interior, the paint carquest uses is SEMS. It can be order by number in a spray can or by the quart.
i bought my interior paint from corvette america it came out perfect it comes in qts or spray cans i used the qts then cleared them they look great it was red and perfect color match /no mixing nessary just put in gun and shoot whats left over put back in can for next time
