GPS security made by DeWalt for tools, etc...

They show the alarm unit mounted in plain site and easy to get too.
Take Big Hammer...Wack unit off mounting surface... Load up equipment...Haul Butt...Leave alarm on the ground.....Cops show ...Find Alarm.... Equipment Gone...
"Lo Jack" is hidden somewhere in your ride... you'd have to tare ride apart to find it.

in your car for only a little more than these guys are selling an imitation unit for. I know the dealer that sponsors my Corvette Club - Suburban Chevrolet in Sandy, OR installs the units all the time. In fact, they already had one installed in the 2006 Trailblazer I bought from them last year.

Obviously you're gonna stick it somewhere else...
I've been thinking about getting GPS stuff for the cars.
I haven't looked it to it at all but I really like to see more options...

Unfortunately LoJack isn't much of a security device according to our local police. My truck, a 2005 Silverado, had it installed at the time of purchase to give me some piece of mind. I'm told that if the truck is stolen, the thieves usually park it in a remote hidden location for a day or two to see if it does have LoJack and the law shows up. If nothing happens, they move it to wherever and strip it down. So much for security!!

somewhere in the archives is a thread from a guy about using a cheap prepaid cellphone's built-in GPS as a means to track car movement. in combination with a cellphone tracking option from his cellphone provider that is meant to keep track of your lids, he is able to tell where his car is at all times.

Any Big city area in the northeast are usually well covered by police using LoJack. They have a good record around here for finding your vehicle in the on the run mode or the park and watch mode.
My friend Oscar's Lexus was found 1 hour after being reported to the Police in a Wendy's drive thru.
The Car thieves were waiting for there Burger and fries...

Lojack only works in big cities. I just got back from another route66 ride where my car would have been covered by lojack for zero hours per day for four days. There is no coverage in the quad cities.
