I'm in the process of doing the shielding on my '58.
Corvette Central has some really good diagrams and information on the various shielding parts.

No they are not the same. There were 5 different distributor shields used on the midyears. If you are looking for a '64 (3848306), it can be most readily identified by the insulator being held by in place by two (2) metal rivets. There are other subtle differences, but that's the easiest way.
Other configurations may fit your car if judging is not an issue. I don't know anything about repro distributor shields, but suspect they are all of the '66-'67 style -- probably chrome plated carbon steel, too vs. stainless originals.

I'm going thru the same thing w/ my 63.
www.licorvette.com/pdfcatalogfiles/cat/30.pdf has a good drawing and lists which years are different.

Different size cut outs around the throttle linkage, some have 2, some have 3 rivets. Some of the rivets are metal, some are plastic, SO...
IF originality is of concern, make sure you buy the correct piece.

Thanks for all the replys, I would like to find an original cover if possible, I didn't realize there were so many styles of ignition covers.
