Found some "hidden" documentation of an independent appraisal that came with my '67 that gives these numbers under the heading of Engine Numbers...511413C and F0329HF. I haven't found these numbers myself yet, but I have found the engine number that matches the VIN. Any help with these? Thanks, Nick

Nick,
Is your vette a 67? That engine code is for a 65 327 300HP built 03.29/65. I don't know waht the 511413C is.
Don
Now I feel like a fool...after reading Don's response, I went and looked for myself (should have done that in the first place, duh ) and the numbers from the front of the block read...7115739 and V0328HT. Since that first number matches the VIN and the ID plate, I will assume what ever the heck I was reading in that report was hooey...but can I assume that the HT id's this as a 327/350 manual tranny with a build date of 3/28? Don't know what the V is though...thanks, Nick

That's a much better number for a 67. It is a 327 350, 11.0:1 compression, manual trans Special High Performance. The V means it made made in Fllint ( T would be made in Tonawanda). I was sweating it for you for awhile

I would still be sweating it. Looks like it used to have that 65 engine in it. So, the question would be is the one there now real or Memorex.

Probably would be useful to know whether this report was suppose to be for this car or not. SIXTSVN at least has the VIN that matches the pad. Might be good to post a pic of the pad stamp.

mmmmmmm, if this is indeed an earlier appraisal of this car (does it refer to a 67, in the color it is, etc.?) then you migh have some investigating to do (as others have said those are numbers off of the pad of a 65 Corvette SB, a 300 hp engine) Was the engine in this 67 represented to be original when you bought it?

I really do think I got some "bad" paperwork...there were several inconsistencys that I didn't pick up on because the copy of the original was so bad, it was hard to read...but it talked about power antenna not working when it doesn't have one...and steel wheels missing hubcaps when it has the original rally wheels...so I think I got a copy of a report that wasn't for my car...even though the cover page was correct, I think the rest of the report was for a different car...and I'm going to leave it at that.
