Default Rondine

For those interested I just found out that the Rondine, which is a 1963 Corvette with a one-off body by Pininfarina, will be on dispay @ the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance on June 7-8/2008. (Greenwich, CT)

It was sold this past January for $ 1.76-million @ Barrett-Jackson.

Brett: I believe the purchaser of Rondine was Carriage House Motors in Greenwich, CT, as I saw it in their showroom right after the auction. I don't know if they bought it for their own inventory or on behalf of an individual collector.

I'll be exhibiting one of my cars (not the Vette) on Saturday, June 7, so hopefully I'll get a good look at this car if it's on the field that day.

To be honest, I never thought Rondine was all that attractive. Purely from an aesthetic POV, I'll take a stock C2 coupe any day!

Hey Geoff,

I never knew that Carriage House acquired the Rondine. I agree with regards to the styling but must give them credit for thinking outside the box!

Have any "guest passes"?

Only if you claim you're my wife, but I'd guess the organizers would recognize that you aren't.

Wouldn't mind being the co-owner of those excellent vehicles but I'll have to pass.

Looking forward to getting together with the Cos Cob Cruisers on Sunday, weather permitting.

quite possible - I am out of town the weekend before, so that means my wife will be flying the weekend of the show, so I'll have the kids with me if I go (they got dragged to the Westport Concours d'Elegance at the Hunt Club last summer too )

I'll let you know if there is any light in between the various weekend kids schedule (soccer, baseball and swimming all on tap this weekend, and then there's the endless birthday parties that only last 1 1/2 hours, meaning you really can't do anything in between dropping the kid off and picking up . . . )

Hmmmm, pics left me a little cold. I rather have alot of other Corvettes for that much. But then I'm not rich.

For details on the June 7/8 concours, check out:

www.greenwichconcours.com

The cars exhibited are different on Saturday than on Sunday, so it's actually quite worth visiting both days. There were a hanful of tasty Vettes, C1 and C2, at last year's event.

As you'll read if you check out this site, all proceeds go to charity.

Very cute Jack. I can just see it now, circa 2016 and the lovely lady says, "Dad, can you buy me a new (2017) M/B CLK convertible, it's only $125K"

yeah, she looks like her mom, thank God. And you're right, I'd do anything for that little girl!

'cept maybe let her boyfriend borrow her daddy's C2 13 years from now!
