Default column question

are column collars different for 63 and 65-67?
If so, I need a 65-67 one, anyone have one for sale?
I have a 65-67 dash in a 63 car and I have a gap above the collar, I want to get rid of this gap.
Thanks a bunch...

6T3,

Since no one else jumped in here, I'll give this a try. I don't have a collar for you but I'm thinking this archived thread may help you.

Basically, your car probably had the steering column out in its life. The above thread post by JohnZ gives the correct order of assembly back into the car. That collar, if there is no difference between years, should then fill that gap correctly.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jim

Short answer to your question is yes - the '63 collar is different to fit into the rounded cut-out on a '63-only dash cluster.

A '63 steering collar will not properly fit your later model cluster. I believe the steering collar for all C-2's are repro'd. so you can easily get the correct one for your cluster.

I have a 64 dash in my 63. I am going to use a 64 collar and I think it will cover the gap.
