Default Battery Cable Routing

Anyone have some good pictures on how you route your battery cables ??
I just completed transferring my battery tray from the passenger side to the drivers side. Should have done this long ago especially since that battery was so close to that exhaust manifold (big block).

You'll find the installation/routing of the cables with a driver's side battery mounting in the C60 section of the Assembly Manual. Only A/C cars got a driver's side battery (except the '65 L-78).

John, are there published battery cable length(s) for a/c and non a/c mid years? I'd like to pre-fabricate HD cables for my ac equipped 64.

Thanks

Here's the negative cable. It runs to the left side bellhousing bolts. I forget which one, but think it's the first one above the opening for the clutch fork.

You can also see the black Positive cable in that picture, as it crosses behind the negative cable right behind the clutch pedal shaft. It runs across the firewall, about at the mid-point, routed through a few metal clips to hold it in place, then over to the starter.

This picture, shows part of the positive cable as it comes over to the passenger side. It is circled in Red.

You will need to install the access panel in the driver side wheel well. All the parts are available aftermarket. Not a hard thing to do but if your car is original it may be painful and difficult to reverse. Al W.

Access panel is installed and I was happy to see that the 6 holes were already in place and the battery tray fit like a glove. (Black Magic alias George has a great thread with step by step instructions).
I just was trying to see the best way to route the battery cables. I was planning to use the top mounts but it appears that using the side mounts would be a cleaner fit. Vic Z.

Note that in the pictures I posted, I have a top-mount battery but the negative cable is mounted on the side - because it is mounted to a battery disconnect switch. The cable would have mounted a little cleaner to the top post without the disconnect switch.
