Default Engine Identity Help

I know that this is a frequent question but I can't figure out exactly what engine that I have...the numbers are:

on the back of the block 43 GM 14016379 C26.0

on the front pasenger side of the block V0509800

When I look up the codes it says that the 14016379 is 1978-1985 car/truck engine (anlther code list says it is 77-79)

If I read the casting code right it says: March 26 1980(?)

How do I tell what exactly I have here and what the ratyed HP is?

Help please...Thanks
Whit

It's a 1980 350 - was used in many passenger car and truck applications (dipstick in the oil pan, not in the block). It was cast on March 26th and assembled on May 9th at Flint V-8.

Check the pad stamp again - the three characters after 'V0509" should be letters, not numbers, and there should be a VIN derivative stamped there as well.

Thanks for the input...I'll check the engine code again to determine the three letters after the V0509. I should have been more careful.
