Default ignition shielding / wiring

is there a DETAILED picture of the wire routing and shielding?

I suppose the small clip on the oil pan is at the center of the bend in the V Shield(gets covered by the shield) and accepts the wires from the bottom.(U faces down) The vendor pics all show from the top.(U facing up) (specifically pass side now)

Also, plug heat shields don't match up with the vendor pics exactly... and it appears there are a few areas that mating components interfere slightly with one another although they will probably go together.

If I recall the two front cylinder wiring (pass side) snake between the motor mount and the third pops out of the notch in the V shield.

On the left bank, count 4 bolts forward from the rear. On the right, count 5 bolts forward. The clips fit with the "U" facing downward. The one on the left bank is a bit difficult to position because it is coincident with the arc in the pan by the dipstick tube.

There is also a small two-wire loom that goes on each forward heat shield to spread the plug wires as they come up adjacent to the motor mount.

thanks for the information...I had been told to count from the front and it appears I have the clip in the wrong spot.

are they the only wires that go into the V shields?

they route nicer under the motor mounts??

The two forward cylinders on each bank route through the boomerang shields. The oil pan clips are positioned near the upturn. The wires exit the front of the boomerang shield just aft of and adjacent to the engine mount, then enter the little 2-place loom just under the heat shield. You can see those details in the bottom photo.

If you have non-original motor mounts and/or reproduction or later model shielding pieces, I'm not sure how that works.

The RH side is similar, but much easier to assemble with the starter motor removed.

thanks again, I changed it to as you described on the passenger side. still don't like the routing around the motor mount but........

nit picking now...do they exit at rear of motor (to distributor) both towards the rear of shield or one and one separated by the block?

vark- what engine is in your car?
