Default 1964 engine configuraton question

Can u bolt on a Aluminum 365 intake on a 300 hp block, do u have to change heads or anything else?
Will it still run as well as the cast iron intake?

It will fit just fine. You may notice a slight increase in performance, or you may not. Are you also changing the carb?

And original heads.

Then why change the intake? Seriously, it won't make magic with the old carb. You need the appropriate Holley to get some improved result.
Back in the 60's we called this change (intake and carb) the 325hp-327.
Based on nothing more than speculation and teen optomism, but we thought they ran better.

The original carb is a Carter AFB - it won't fit on the aluminum 365hp intake - it only accepts a Holley.

Thanks for all the input.
Maybe I just leave well enough alone.
