I bought the 55 on ebay last night
What is the general consensus? Do you think it was a decent deal. It's ok if you're honest. I'm a big boy.....I thought it looked like a semi-good to good deal. Here's the link:

I don't post here too often. I just finished my 60 and am ready to send it to the paint shop.....I'm looking for another project. I also still have my 64 and drive it like I stole it!
IF ANYONE HAS ANY OF THE MISSING ITEMS LISTED IN THE AUCTION, LET ME KNOW.

Looks like a great deal to me - especially with the tons of parts included. Maybe '55COPPER' on this forum can help you with the hard-to-find, missing items.

There is a difference between the 56 and the 55 so it can't be cheated and there are so few 55s floating around the parts are hare to find.
You could do what I did, make one

I keep track of 53 to 55 transactions, althought I have not updated my webpage lately. I have 4 sales of 55s listed on my website, and another 3 sales to post next time I have a chance.
Website is at: 1953 to 1955 Transactions
1955s sell at a meaningful premium compared to 1954s. I recently drove a 55, and I understand why the cars sell for a premium. The V8 makes a real difference.
You purchased a very nice car at a good price. You are missing some expensive parts (like the air cleaner). But I think it would be very hard or even impossible to find a nicer 55 for what you paid. Thus, in the words of Sports Car Market magazine: Well Bought.

Nice find there. I think you'll be glad you jumped on that one.
Agreed not very many of these left, racing the new V8 took
out alot of them. How do you plan to proceed, full restoration
or get it back on the road?

The most knowledgable 53 to 55 expert is right in your back yard. His name is Steve Newsom and he is in Seabrook,Texas. He has most parts available or knows where to get them. You really lucked out having him this close to you. I will not post his number on this forum but if you call me I will get you in contact with him.My name is Jay and you can reach me at 713-253-0475. Congrats on your purchase.

Congrats on the buy! Most of the parts can be found, but at a premium. Try Roy Braatz for ignition shielding, he MAY have one set left. He had sets reproduced years ago and was selling them off just a few months ago... Most other parts can be found by surfing the net and Ebay. Mary Jo Rohner on ebay, Jay's on ebay. Steve Newsome sold me my wire guides, he was the only person who had them. Not cheap, but they are so hard to find. He also restores side curtains. Corvette Central, Grossmueller's, Doc Rebuild, all sell various parts you'll need. Zip as well, I try not to mention them in the same sentence as the Doc...You'll know why if you go to his website. You are off to a very good start, I'm jealous, mine was a big block drag car when I picked it up. If I can help, just email me, mine should be on the road in a few months, it has been down for 25+ years, I'm just finishing up a body off resto that is going on the three year mark.

All I can say is bring money and find someone who knows what he is doing. Mine is in the paint booth as I type. Should be done in two weeks but still a lot of work to be done. First choice will be to decide if you want to go NCRS or driver or show. Each requires a different approach to what you do, Since mine was without paint and I found a painter willing and able to do the lacquer and has expertese in doing NCRS TF paint I chose to go that way.
