I'm curious about headers available for C1 Corvettes. Many of the cars I've seen with modified small blocks still run cast manifolds, or possibly shorty headers. The only full length headers I've seen made for C1s have tubes that run through the fender well, which I don't really find an attractive option. I know space is tight, but is there a better alternative out there?
A pair of 62 (and later) 2-1/2" "rams horn" manifolds will handle your exhaust needs unless you have a really highly modified engine. They won't cause any of the problems associated with headers. Wiodely available used and as repos. :D
My 62 has headers that connect to the "standard exhaust pipes" via collector flanges (and would appear by your description to be what you are looking for. I do not know who made them since they came on the Vette when I purchased it. There are several manufacturer's of headers that should / might be able to help you. Here is a list (with phone numbers) of several that at one time may of (I think) produced them:

Re: C1 headers (DavidB)
I have a set on my 58. They are ceramic coated and made by headman I believe. When I researched it I only found two companys that made them. I got mine through Summit. You need to think about generator mounting though. I switched to a altenator at the same time I switched to headers. I had a local exaust shop do a custom job. The collectors were 2 1/4 inches so I had them run 2 1/4 pipe and put on 2 1/4 inch mufflers and make a reducer to the 2 inch OD pipe to go out through the bumpers. If you get the coated kind becareful not to burn them during a cam break in cycle. I almost did.
I am currently running the 2 1/2 inch ram horns and a stainless exhaust system with a crossover pipe. The 350 installed in the car now is nothing special, but I'm planning to rebuild or go with a warm crate motor (ZZ4 or something comparable). 62Fuelie, you helped answer what was going to be part (b) of my question: is it worth it to convert? As luck would have it, there is also another thread addressing the same topic ("More HP with headers?")
At this stage, I'll probably stick with my current setup, especially since I had the manifolds coated a couple of years ago and I kind of like the way they look. I will print and save all of the suggestions, however.
