I am have some problems with a Pertronix and MSD setup on my 62...AHHHHH!
Sorry, If anyone has this set up I would really appreciate some help.
I have a stock distributor, a MSD 7 box and a pertronix unit. The Pertronix is install properly and the box is set up. My confusion is the wiring.
The MSD Box:
The Heavy Red and Heavy Black to the battery. No problem
The orange and black goes to the ignition coil. No problem
The red goes to the ingition.
The white to the Neg (-) from my Pertronix???????
The Pertronix:
The red to ???????
The black to the white from the MSD???????
Ignition wiring:
I have a brown and green wire from my auto wiring. Is one a ground and one ignition????
I had a ballast resistor but I do not believe I need it any more ( no more points ).
Very frustrated and could use some expert help.
Thank You
Isn't the ballast resistor hooked up to your windshield wipers? That's the reason my mechanic/bud didn't by-pass it. I've got the MSD #8572 tach drive distributor & AL6 hot box atop the ZZ4.

The windshield wiper motor is attached to the ballast resistor, but it is on the 12V side. Since you are using the Petronix, the ballast resistor is unnecessary. The wiper motor still has to be attached to the ignition feed and you need some sort of terminal block. You can get a terminal block or use the ballast resistor for a connection point. The green wire was originally the wire from the low side of the resistor to the coil. That's all I can remember without getting out a wiring diagram.
