Here on the east coast it's still bone dry, no rain in ages nor any in the forecast.
A couple of days ago I walked out to the beach and took a few pics of the smoke, then over to the river. There are no clouds in these pics, that's all smoke.
Looking North toward the Cape......
Looking Southeast at the tail-end of the smoke, probably over The Bahamas......
Looking Northwest across the river toward Melbourne......

So far the west coast of Florida is OK. The good news is that an arsonist has been arrested a few hours ago. I would love to see these mental cretins set themselves on fire. Jerry

Nice of you to check up on us down here in HOT south Florida. We did close part of the tollroad yesterday when the grassy median caught on fire. Talking to some of the truckers that drive up to Ft Myers from Ft Lauderdale are really concerned about the Everglades.A good portion of the Glades is looking like a dried up pine tree waiting for a reason to burn.Forecast is for hot,sunny and windy conditions !! stay tuned Vic Z.

We'll keep our fingers crossed for all of you. Wind, heat,lack of rain, and low humidity out here are always the receipe for disaster. The worst part is that it lures the crazies out ( arsonists).

I'm in North Pam Beach County and we've had some smoke but from a marsh fire at Lake Okeechobee (sp?).
Been burning for days, and this place needs a good long soaking.
