Actually Western was an OEM supplier to GM for some wheels (notably 70's Z-28's). I don't know however, if they ever supplied any Corvette wheels.
Western Wheel/Kelsey-Hayes supplied the factory-installed optional alloy wheels for the 1978 Chevrolet Z-28 Camaro. I clearly remember seeing Western Wheel stamped or cast into the original wheels.
I would suspect that they also supplied the original alloy Corvette wheels during that same time period.

Larry, I'm running those Z-28 wheels on my 66. As you observed, "Western" is clearly cast into the inner side of the wheel.
