10 leaf rear spring
Anyone ever see a 10 leaf rear spring? Got 10 including the large 1st leaf w/cups on the end. Just took it apart to refurbish, had the correct H liners etc. Should I take a leaf out??

Just speculation:
Previous owner may have had a leaf added to bring it back up because of spring sag or support the tongue weight of his ski boat.
If it is level now and you remove a leaf it can only go down.

If the prior owner re-used the original bolts (at the differential cover)and added the leaf, the bigger problem is lack of thread engagement. Take out the extra leaf. If it sags, then replace the entire spring.

My car had 10 leaves when I bought it. It had 7 inch rims and 60 series tires on it and I believe they took a lower leaf from another Corvette spring, cut the bushing ends off of it and slipped it under the original lower leaf to raise the car for tire clearance. When I removed it and cleaned/detailed the spring and reinstalled it - the car sat fine again. Your should have seen the coil springs they shoved in the front. The car rode with the control arms in constant contact with the upper bumper.
